Frank P. Giarratano, MBA, Associate Partner
Frank is an experienced business and marketing professional, providing senior-level consultation to SGW Pharma Marketing clients. He is focused on the big picture, ensuring all business units are strategically in synch and meeting client expectations. Frank is a relationship- and results-oriented individual. He has a diverse business background, working in the pharmaceutical, higher education, healthcare, broadcast, power technology, laboratory, and restaurant franchising industries. With this background, Frank brings a broad perspective when addressing marketing challenges. Early on in his career, Frank founded a company specializing in voice and fax-on-demand for marketing applications (VCI). Within 3 years, VCI was acquired by leading New Jersey marketing firm, SSD&W (the predecessor to SGW, a company of which he is the Co-Founder and COO). Frank earned his BS in Marketing from Rutgers University, and his MBA from Seton Hall University.
Dan Marino, MSc, Associate Partner
Dan has spent his entire career in the life science publishing, medical education, public relations, and communications industries. He launched successful business-to-business pharmaceutical publications (print and digital), most notably Specialty Pharma and Drug Development & Delivery; worked as Editorial Director and Contributor for vertical pharma industry online content providers; and served as Director of Continuing Medical Education for a medical education company. He offers SGW Pharma Marketing a fresh, approachable perspective, taking great pride in building trusting professional relationships with clients. Dan’s responsibilities include direction, management, and oversight of all life science media content. Dan earned his BS degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business & Economics, and Journalism (Public Relations); and his MSc in Medicine (Physiology) from West Virginia University.
David F. Scelba, MA, Associate Partner
David is responsible for the development of SGW Pharma Marketing’s new products and services. He is also involved in researching and investigating all acquisition opportunities and for initiating all negotiations on behalf of the company. He is directly responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounting, financial, legal, Web, IT, Co-op, and fulfillment departments, and plays a key role as senior strategist in the development of clients’ interactive integrated marketing communications programs. His diversified B2B, consumer, and retail experience encompasses industries such as: automotive; biochemical; broadcast; education (K-12-colleges/universities); healthcare; hospitals; microwave; pharmaceutical (research/drug delivery); political; professional video/audio; medical; telecommunications; and many more. David develops and maintains relationships at the business, corporate, community, county, and state levels, and frequently speaks on the subject of utilizing technologically innovative tools to implement integrated marketing communications strategies. He earned his BA and MA in Education
Patrick Brightman, Associate Partner
Patrick brings two decades of award-winning public relations experience to his position with SGW Pharma Marketing. During his career, Patrick has conducted public relations activities for more than 100 clients in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, high-tech, financial, and consumers markets. These activities range from launching and branding start-up companies to maintaining brand recognition of existing companies. Over the past four years, Patrick has developed, implemented, and managed social media activities on behalf of a number of clients. These social media campaigns have utilized various platforms to engage with customers and prospects, increase brand awareness, drive traffic to client websites, as well as enhance website SEO for improved organic search results. Patrick began his career as a journalist, serving two years as a newspaper editor before entering the public relations field. As a PR professional, he has earned awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Business Marketing Association (BMA), and New Jersey Advertising Club for his work. He has also been named one of the top Tech Communicators by PR SourceCode. He earned his BA in Communications from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Ralph Vitaro, Associate Partner
Ralph Vitaro has spent his entire career in life science publishing, conferences, and tradeshows. In 1984, Ralph began his career in life science as a member of the start-up team for a new magazine titled Spectroscopy, a publication serving the analytical instrumentation market. Following its success in the United States, Ralph expanded the operation abroad and introduced Spectroscopy Europe the following year. Ralph is also credited with the introduction of BioPharm magazine and later became its Publisher. In 1990, he became the Publisher of Pharmaceutical Technology and then Group Publisher of Applied Clinical Trials, Pharmaceutical Executive, BioPharm, and Pharmaceutical Technology Europe. Ralph was also the General Manager for Advanstar Communication’s Pharmaceutical Group of global publications, conferences, and tradeshows. In 2001 after a successful 16 years with Aster Publishing and Advanstar Communications, Ralph co-founded Drug Development & Delivery.
Lou Nosti, Vice President, Business Development & Account Services
As head of business development and account services, Lou has over 30 years of sales, business management, and marketing experience. He previously held positions as President of Linear Productions, a full-service production and recording company, President of Northstar Vending Inc., Vice President of Corporate Development and Operations, and Regional Sales Director for a large U.S. manufacturer with global distribution. He has created sales and marketing initiatives in seven industries and joined SGW in 2011 to develop new business within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial services, and B2B markets. He has held elective office, serving three years on the Montville Township Board of Education as both a member, and chairman of the communications committee where he spearheaded the passage of a $17M referendum, and graduated cum-laude with a B.M. degree from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Leonel Montes de Oca, Senior Vice President, DP/ Editor
Leonel is responsible for bringing the vision of LifeScience PR’s high-definition, interactive video division to life. He utilizes the moving image as an effective tool to deliver messages and successfully break through the clutter of a saturated media environment. Prior to joining SGW Integrated Marketing Communications / LifeScience PR, Leonel was President/Creative Director of Earth and Fire Studios, designing and producing multimedia video, website, print, environmental and trade show installations for various Fortune 500 companies. Leonel has won numerous awards for his work as a creative director as well as accolades for his HD media production. He is also an accomplished fine artist and musician. His skills include oil painting, photography, sound design and recording.
John Roy, Chief Creative Officer
John has been around branding, advertising and marketing for more than 30 years. He brings his strategic thinking, writing and design skills along with in-depth research approach to every project, beginning first with addressing what the overall goal is. “Nothing can be solved unless the problem is realized” is a mantra that John goes by from the smallest of projects to the largest of branding campaigns and everything in between. If initially each project is digging through research and analytics, then solutions can quite often be organic in their approach—from sketches on napkins to impromptu focus groups, whatever it takes to reveal creative “nuggets”. John offers SGW Pharma Marketing, and ultimately its clients, an engaging and proactive perspective. Being reactive and taking orders stymies great creativity. John’s overall responsibilities include maintaining a high level of creativity to everything that leaves the doors of SGW Pharma Marketing. John earned a BFA degree from School of Visual Arts in New York City. His other creative outlets include singing/songwriting, music production video directing, and photography.
Alexander Lindroth, Manager of Digital Strategy
Alex has extensive experience in preparing and executing digital marketing campaigns for multinational consultancies, publishing companies, and international businesses. He has spent the last 5 years as a marketer in the digital space, both managing marketing projects and handling the intricacies of day-to-day digital marketing. Alex is Google AdWords certified and operates enterprise-level digital advertising accounts. In all marketing efforts, Alex takes an integrated approach, working to sync up all advertising, SEO, public relations, content, email, and other efforts. Alex received his B.A. from Drew University and his Master of Arts in Teaching at Drew University’s Caspersen School.
John Kiesewetter, CRO, MS, Clinical Research Organization (CRO) Marketing Specialist
John Kiesewetter has spent his entire career in the B2B publishing arena as an accomplished professional working in both global and domestic markets with extensive experience in life science and related industries. In 1988, John started his career as a member of the advertising sales team for Pharmaceutical Technology and BioPharm Manufacturing. Throughout the next several years, John gained experience working on Circulation Management magazine and then expanded his role with Spectroscopy International, a start-up publication serving the European analytical instrumentation market, and Medical Device Technology, another start-up in Europe. He then returned to the US as Publisher of CADalyst, a unique opportunity to work in the computer aided design field for 3 years. From 1995 to 2007, he was the US Sales Manager for Pharmaceutical Technology Europe (playing a key role in introducing US companies to the pan-European pharmaceutical market) as well as launching Pharmaceutical Technology Asia. From 2002 to 2012 worked on Applied Clinical Trials, a niche publication serving the global clinical trials market just before the evolution of the Contract Research Organization (CRO) era. For 10 years, John acquired extensive expertise in helping his clients market their innovative services and technologies to the CRO industry, playing a key leadership role as the market grew and integrated electronic marketing campaigns changed the way business was conducted. In 2013, after a successful 25 years with Aster Publishing and Advanstar Communications, John joined Drug Development & Delivery as its Global Sales & Marketing Director and serves as SGW Pharma Marketing’s CRO marketing specialist.
Judie S. Christopher, Account Executive
Judie has over 20 years experience in developing corporate and medical communications strategies targeting pharmaceutical executives and healthcare professionals. She posses the unique skill set of identifying, recruiting, and establishing the industry’s key opinion leader relations. Judie has professional affiliations with major medical organizations, institutions, universities, and has expertise in coordinating third-party sponsorships relations. She also has extensive experience in print advertising, event management, graphic arts, and audio video presentations. Bringing a wealth of knowledge to SGW Pharma Marketing, Judie’s previous positions include a principal in MedEduca, Inc., Vice President for Gardiner-Caldwell SynerMed, Director of Project Management at Thomas Ferguson Associates, and Project Manager at Health Learning Systems, Inc. and Slidemakers.
Megan O’Haus, Account Executive
Megan has worked with a wide range of consumer and B2B clients in the healthcare consumer package goods, medical, technology, and finance industries. She has experience with start-ups, as well as established companies that are attractive for investment. She has a strong base of print and broadcast media contacts, and is well-versed in medical and pharmaceutical B2B product placement and corporate publicity. Megan also has experience managing clients’ social media pages, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Foursquare. Megan earned her BA in Public Relations from Quinnipiac University.
Emily Maupai, Account Executive
Emily has an expertise in social media campaigns that result in more engagement, increased brand awareness, and added followers for companies. Emily also has a strong acumen that allows for comprehensive analysis and measurement of the success of social media programs. Emily earned her BA in Advertising from Rowan University, with concentrations in Media Communications and Graphic Design. She utilizes her design background to complement the social media campaigns we employ on behalf of clients.
